Talks for Munna Bhai sequel turned into making a Biopic on Dutt!

After a week-long shooting schedule the iconic filmmakers Rajkumar Hirani, Vidhu Vinod Chopra along with the superstar Ranbir Kapoor walked into Ashoka Lakeview in Bhopal to address the press about the much spoken Sanjay Dutt Biopic.
They were accompanied with Vikky Kaushal who plays the role of Ranbir's best friend in reel life. Rajkumar Hirani while addressing the press recollects the time when he had visited Sanjay Dutt when he was out of jail on a payroll to discuss the Munnabhai sequel, while in talks about the hardships he faced in Yerawada Jail, Hirani got the idea about the biopic. On having a glimpse of Dutt's pictures from his college days, Hirani could immediately think of no one other than Ranbir to play Dutt's role.
Ranbir, on the other hand sounded very excited about the role and said, " I have personally known Sanjay Dutt since last 20 years and he is more like an elder brother to me." to which Vidhu Vinod Chopra added, " You would be able to see Ranbir in the best performance of his career in this film, at times you would not be able to make out the difference between Dutt and Ranbir!"
On asking Rajkumar Hirani about the continuity of the Munnabhai series he said," if at all there is a third Munnabhai movie you will see only Sanjay Dutt in the role." Vikky Kaushal who is known for his role in the Film 'Masaan' is still unable to believe that he got a chance to work with Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra, he plays the role of Ranbir's best friend. Hirani said that when the script was discussed with Sanjay Dutt, he did not ask for any cuts or deductions in the script, some sequences in the script also brought tears to Dutt's eyes. Sanjay Dutt is at the moment shooting for his upcoming blockbuster Bhoomi in Agra, the first film to be released after his comeback as of now.
