Do not share an OTP with anyone to stop EMI

 

APRIL 07 (WTN) - As you know, the 21-day lockdown continues in India due to Coronavirus infection. In such a situation, people are handling their important work online. At the same time, people are adopting digital methods for any kind of payment of money and for any kind of Coronavirus relief fund. But even in times of this trouble, cybercrime fraudsters are committing their misdeeds.


In this episode, State Bank of India has alerted its consumers about a new kind of cybercrime. Not only State Bank of India, but now the government has also advised people to stay safe from a new kind of cybercrime. PIB (Press Information Buero) has given information by tweeting that the bank consumers should beware of cyber frauds regarding EMI. Let us tell you what precautions you should take to avoid cybercrime.

 

First of all, keep in mind that while making an online transaction of any kind, do not share your OTP with anyone via phone call, message, or email. At the same time, SBI has advised its consumers to be careful, saying that fraudulent banks are calling consumers and asking them to share OTP to stop their loan EMI. SBI has tweeted that it is not necessary to share OTP to not pay EMI.

 

For your information, let us know that if you share your OTP with an unknown person to stop your EMI, then online fraudsters can withdraw money from your account immediately. For your information, let us know that in view of the situation of lockdown due to Coronavirus infection epidemic, the Reserve Bank of India has allowed all Indian banks / Indian financial institutions to give relief to customers for up to 3 months to make their EMI payments between March 1, 2020 to May 31, 2020 .

Never save your credit or debit card details on any e-commerce site. Do not share your personal or bank related information on any unsolicited email.
