India secures a better position in awale of Coronavirus epidemic

APRIL 23 (WTN) - The 21-day lockdown the government imposed on the country from March 25, got another lease of extension till May 3, as cases of Covid-19 are still on the rise in various parts of India.

However, it is being said that the fact that India, being such a large country, has little over 10,000 reported corona cases in a month, is directly reflective of the benefit of the lockdown.

Now, with another over 15 days in hand for India to flatten the curve, the administration and health officials as well as people will have to take the extra effort to bring life to normal.

Proper caution has to be maintained by all and social distancing is the best and most widely approved and accepted measure to stem the spread of the contagion.

Since the infection spreads from person to person, it is by default logical to keep away from each other. In a country like India, it is highly difficult to control people’s movement and social distancing norms are always liable to be violated if any leeway is allowed, which is why a complete lockdown is the only possible solution for as long as things don’t seem to be in good control.

Yes, there is difficulty for the people and the economy is hit hard due to closure of industrial activities and trade, but that has to be borne for a while because it is a global catastrophe of an unprecedented kind thatcalls for equally unprecedented measures.
