Uddhav has lost the plot in Maha!
Questions arise on CM Uddhav's administration skills
JUNE 17 (WTN) - The exponential growth in the number of Covid-19 patients in Mumbai squarely points towards the failure of the state government and BMC in tackling the crisis effectively. The numbers are still on the rise and the government seems running out of options and ideas to find a way out of the crisis. The economic capital of the country has sadly turned into the corona capital of India— all due to colossal neglect and mismanagement.
The poor health infrastructure of the maximum city has been exposed before the world with maximum infections and fatalities. All the tall claims of being a great city have come apart miserably. The major reason has been lack of preparedness to raise the number of hospital beds and testing facilities.
The contact tracing strategy was shoddy and several slums turned hotspots of the disease. Even during the nationwide lockdown phase, thanks to poor policing, violations were rampant in the city. The government also did nothing for the safety and financial security of the migrants and subsequently their unchecked movement and exodus spiked the cases.
CM Uddhav Thackeray was almost invisible during the three months and hardly held meetings with bureaucrats or ministers to take stock of the situation and unveil some effective containment plan. The whole onus was shifted on the BMC, which suffered from lack of leadership and decision-making. Its Covid-19 hospitals are epitome of mismanagement. Today, the whole infrastructure and health paraphernalia of the city is creaking and chocking. Millions of people are now at the mercy of their fate!
