The recent study published by UNICEF has proven that more than three million children’s are living in areas which are highly prone to air pollution. The study which has used the satellite data has indicated that billions of people are living in outskirts which exceeds the limit of Air Pollution defined by World Health Organization (WHO).

Most of the deaths as estimated by UNICEF are caused by Air pollutin damaging lungs and causing Asthma, saying, “No society can afford to ignore air pollution. We protect our children when we protect the quality of our air. Both are central to our future.”

Children are the ones who breathe rapidly than adults that is the main reason of sudden deaths due to inhaling of air. The air pollution crisis is worst in low and middle income nations, where 98% of cities do not meet WHO guidelines, but over half the cities in rich countries also fail to meet the guidelines.

Air pollution is one big issue mainly seen in developing countries mainly in South Asian regions. To avoid such terrible practices leading to large number of deaths, government should strictly take decision and ban activities leading to such disaster.-WTN
