In an Exclusive Interview with the upcoming Diva; Divya Singh

The new joinee of Bollywood has proven her versatility as an actress with the role she is about to paly in her latest movie. Just before the release of her upcoming film Ishq Junoon, we catch up with the gifted star to talk about her role, experience and journey so far. Here we introduce Divya Singh, the upcoming diva of Bollywood.

Q: Divya, firstly I really want to appreciate you for your performance in the movie Ishq Junoon like I have seen the trailer your acting is so real that it never gave me a thought even once also that you are performing for the very first time. How was your experience?

Thank you so much for your lovely words they really mean a lot to me. I am really happy that you liked my trailer so hopefully you will love me in film as well. The experience was really nice as it is my first film and the cast & crew of the movie were very calm and friendly to me and because of them only I am able to deliver this kind of performance with so much ease and comfort.

Q: I suppose you don’t have a film background. How was your reaction when you got the movie? What all are the changes in your journey like from when you started and now when you are on the peak?

Yes you are right; I don’t have a filmy background at all. I come from a very small town called Aurangabad which is in Bihar. I was the first one from the town who came to Mumbai with a dream to become an actress. Not just for my family it was shocking for the entire district but I am really glad and thankful to my family and the entire town for loving and supporting me. Talking about my journey, it is just the starting and I am really hoping that my hard work gets recognized and also hopes to get love and support from the entire film fraternity, media and as well as the audience and believe to get expected in an very good way.

Q: This movie is a threesome love story quiet bold and expressive movie and what I got from your background is, you are very different in real life as compared to this character. How difficult or how easy was it for you to play a Pakhi’s character? Were you not camera shy because you were on screen for the first time?

Thank you so much once again for mentioning that I am not camera shy. I don’t know why but somehow it happens with me that in front of the camera I become a different Divya and this thing I have specially discovered it during shooting this movie. Playing Pakhi was very difficult for me because as Divya I am very different and shy but that is what an actor’s job is all about, playing different shades and characters and that is what I was taught in my workshops and trainings. In initial days, I was little apprehensive on sets to think and perform like Pakhi but then my crew and director made me understand that this is what my job is, I have to play different characters at various levels and at various films and I was asked to stop thinking like Divya and start performing like Pakhi which helped me a lot.

Q: Like you, your co stars have also performed amazingly and they are also debuting for the first time and the chemistry between you three looks mesmerizing between screen. Were you three comfortable with each other on the sets?

I would love to mention one thing about my co stars that they are really amazing guys. They supported and motivated me in a very good manner. I was much scarred when I saw them for the first time like they are very tall and giant kind of guys and we met on the sets directly not in the workshops. Our first meeting was on the song day where we were asked to romance. I was really comfortable with them and even I cried but they were really sweet. I remember after shooting the first scene, I went to their room and said thanks for being this good because it was really tough to play such a bold character and I was even not knowing before that  how the boys are and how they would be with me but they were really nice.

Q: What are your expectations from the movie and also from the audience? It would be great if you can also tell us about your future engagements?

I am really hoping that this movie does well as it is India’s first threesome love story and it has a very strong content. I really want that everybody should love the story and appreciate the movie and then naturally me and my co stars will be appreciated. Let’s wish us luck. Thank you.
