Health Alert: Air Pollution affecting Humans of India
“Doctor advised me to relocate to some other place and leave Delhi, if I want a healthy life for my children’s”, said, Radha Patel, Delhi.
It may be a shocker for many people, but Delhi children’s have the weakest lungs when compared to kids from other regions.
“My age is 19, I have a severe congestion in my lungs and my sister who is just 12 recently got lung infection”, said, Arun Pillai.
Like Arun and his sister, there are thousands of children and youngsters living a much polluted life in India. This was brought in light from a study conducted by the HEAL Foundation and Breathe Blue, which shows that four out of every 10 children living in the Capital suffer from severe lung problems.
As per the another report given by World Health Organisation, around 22 lakh children in the capital are growing old with the irrevocable lung damage leading to severe respiratory problems, nausea, palpitation, loss of vision, blood pressure and fatigue.
The report also proves that India is one of the most polluted country in the world as compared to other countries damaging organs of the people causing asthma and reduced lung functions.
To cope up with the situation, MrArvindkejriwal, Chief Minister of Delhi took up an initiative to reduce traffic and pollution levels by introducing odd- even system in Delhi which resulted inan political discrimination between both the ruling parties, BJP and AAP.
The situation is getting worse day by day, instead of paying attention and finding out solution to the problem, the capital is busy in continuing his blame game where pollution is the main agenda of the society to be argued upon.
With this scenario, the current lifestyle is giving us a worrying future with no government taking strict decision for the betterment. “Long traffic jams, cars running on diesel, landfills, burning of garbage. These are some of the common ways by which people are getting exposed to toxic air on daily basis,” said, ArundatiVerma, Doctor. WTN
