People’s Group decked up for Navratri celebrations
People’s group is celebrating India’s most awaited, traditional festival of song and dance, Navratri with special events organized for two days in People’s Mall. The Garba night was opened up with the Maha Aarti by Mr. Alok Sanjar and Ms. Megha Vijaywargia.
“From the past few years we have started celebrating Navratri in a Grand manner. People’s Ladies Club with the help of children’s and staff organizes the event, they practice for a fortnight and perform Raas and Garba for two consecutive evenings”, said, Ms. Megha Vijaywargia.
The event was enlightened by the presence of Mr. Alok Sanjar, Member of Indian parliament from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Bhopal. He briefed the crowd about the importance of Navratri and why should we celebrate it. His words magically worked on the audience as just after his speech the crowd was seen all geared up to enjoy the festive mood with the most popular Garba.
The event was hosted by RJ Anuj, Big 92.7 FM with anchor Shruti where they both made the audience beat on modern Garba steps to traditional folk songs and to make the audience chill and relaxed the stalls were also arranged with food and snacks.
For the very first time, People’s group have showcased a stall dedicated to its web portal called Window to News which is a 24/7 online portal running news from all the sectors.
Apart from food, the photo shoot stall was also there named as ‘Selfie Corner’ where one can go and take selfie using different props. For shopaholics, stalls with clothing and dandiya werepresent to make them enjoy the event to the fullest.
“Navratri forms a special bond with people as it is transforms them morally and ethically on social grounds”, said, RJ Anuj, Big 92.7 FM.
The event was embraced by colorful dressings as women were witnessed wearing traditional dresses such as colourful embroidered cholis, ghagras and bandhani dupattas dazzling with mirror work and heavy jewelry. The men were seen in special turbans and kedias with dandias rotating all around the ground.
Jaya, an employee of People’s group who attended the event last night said, “This year the songs are really fun to dance on, I enjoy dancing on Kala chashma.” While Sadhana Solanki, said, “I prefer dancing over traditional dandiya and Garba songs, it is a charm that nothing else has.”
Though there were many eye catching performances in the event, but one of the dance performed by the Paramedical students of People’s University on Holiya Mein Ude Re Gulal have made the audience mesmerized. Before closing the program, the prizes were distributed to students for various competitions held last night. With this, the first day of the event was ended with happy faces and glittering eyes.
