People’s Hospital conducts rare surgery on a girl with crushed head
Bhopal: Parents of Radha (Name changed) had almost lost all hopes of her survival as they headed towards People’s Hospital, Bhanpur on Thursday evening. Eight year old Radha accompanied her mother to the local wheat grinding shop where while playing her head accidentally got stuck with the machine. Within seconds there was blood everywhere and even a few bone chips scattered.
It was a little over 6.00 pm when the family members brought Radha to the hospital. Wasting no time, the emergency staff plunged into action and senior surgeon Dr Mridul Shahi was contacted. Dr Shahi immediately came to the hospital.
Dr Shahi took the lead arranged for all specialists. The case was taken up for surgical intervention within half an hour. During the 90 minute surgery, Dr Shahi and the team of specialists found that there were bone pieces stuck in the brain apart from clots. They also worked on re-positioning the skull which had opened wide and the skin as it had peeled off.
The team of doctors included anesthetist Dr Ashwin Choudhary, Plastic surgeon Dr Prashant Naina, Dr Ganesh, Dr Akash Jain, Dr Jeetendra Singh Dangi and others. Dr. Ashok Mhaske congratulated the team and told that People’s Hospital is having state-of-the art emergency trauma unit backed by super specialist personnel.- Window To News
