Freshen up & greet well this spring
Terrace garden Animesh Sahu, an engineer with private company set up a terrace garden at his New Minal Residency place. Well aware that most flowering plants bloom during spring time he now has sown Zinnia, a variety of Dahlias, Jasmine and lilies. “I was just waiting for the spring. Andgot the terrace garden built around 5 years back and every year I sow vegetable seeds. This time my terrace will bloom. Every morning I spend about 2 hours on the terrace and it rejuvenates my soul.”For this 19-year-old pretty girl, Purti Mehra, it is celebration time every year once the winter doldrums are out. She says she finds the English-grey sky days especially depressing. Speaking about the colour this spring she says, “Sunny is the colour of the season. The market is full of this colour. I recently bought myself a bright yellow flowy dress and believe me it just became an instant hit among my friends.
But yes, I teamed it up with the free-spirited red nail paint. So, the cue is to wear bright and welcome the season.”On a funny note she adds, “See even Gerogia May Jagger is celebrating spring. She is the new face of Pepe Jeans Spring-Summer collection.”

If you are high on energy, trekking and joint activities in your colony is the mantra. Many sports leagues and trekking teams start their registrations post winters. How about being a part of them and if not why not start your own cycling team that can explore new trekking paths or help you know your city better. Supporting this, Ramavatar Sharan says, “I am a part of the 8 member cycling team in my area. We do not want it to become a big group, but a lot of people do approach us to be a part of it. We started just this last Sunday and have zeroed in a couple of spots that we will explore in the coming Sundays.”
Walk mantra
Well not literally. Though morning walks are ideal, walking any time of the day serves the purpose. Of course, the idea must not be to burn the calories alone, but rather enjoy the trip. “An evening or late evening walk allows you to appreciate nature in more ways than one. The little stray shoots, wandering puppies, variety of birds and their chirping and a lot more are a gift that one enjoy. Such walks help clean and sort your mind,” says Mamta Mallick, a government employee.

Plan a trip

Spring is also the right time to head for an amusement park or plan a safari.
“It is my friend’s birthday on Feb 28. We plan to hit the water park at People’s Mall, Bhanpur. It is the right time just before the sun gets too hot,” avers Yash Verma an engineering student. Yash reveals that his father, Mukesh, has planned a Jungle Safari along with his colleagues. Yash regrets he cannot accompany them with examinations right around the corner. However, Verma adds that he plans single day trips to places like Van Vihar National Park, Tawa Churna Boating & Jungle Safari Churna and more.
Indulge in hobbies
Well, if you thought only kids and those with a lot of time can afford to indulge in hobbies then you are definitely on the wrong track. And if you think artwork means perfection then you are even more wrong. Dr Bhamini Shrivastava is a professor but has been trying her hand in painting. Laughing she says, “I can’t even draw a straight line, but when my husband asked me ‘who says a straight line is art?’ I had no answer. My husband pursues photography as a hobby and presently I am just colouring the way my heart feels. I think my heart feels better already.”-Window To News
