WCD Minister Archana Chitnis meets Union minister Shri JP Nadda
Bhopal: Minister for women and child development Archana Chitnis met Union minister for health and family welfare J.P. Nadda in New Delhi and discussed the issues related with women suffering with anemia. Chitnis said that the state government is working in mission mode to remove the problem. Chitnis requested to issue instructions to use salt containing Ferrous Ascorbate on the place of ferrous sulfate under the national iron plus initiative programme.
Woman and child development minister informed the union minister that three ministries women and child development, school education and health department will work in coordination for better results. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is sensitive towards women and children that’s why special efforts are being made in this direction. She said, target had been set to reduce the number of persons suffering with anemia by ten percent by the year 2018.
Chitnis said for removing anemia, national iron plus initiative programme (NIPI) is being implemented in Madhya Pradesh. Ferrous sulfate salt is being provided to beneficiaries. She said it will be benefited more if salt containing Ferrous Ascorbate is provided. This is evidence that the salt will deliver better result in human body. Along with this, formulations of vitamin-C could be available. By this approach, the problem of anemia could be tackled more effectively.-WTN
