Thousands witness Kshipra Arti at Ramghat

Bhopal: Ujjain city has spruced up for Simhastha to be held from April 22 to May 21. To witness Simhastha gifts in the form of new constructions, renovations and beautification, citizens shunned vehicles and started onfoot journey across the city on Sunday evening. Large number of devotees from all directions of city converged at Ramghat and Dutt Akhada on the banks of river Kshipra at 6.30 pm where Maa Kshipra was worshipped. Flooded by LED lights, Ramghat and Dutt Akhada was a feast for eyes of devotees. This pleasing scene was also filmed through drone camera.

Review at meeting of Food & Civil Supplies Sub-committee

A Sub-committee has been constituted for supply of food stuffs during Simhastha. It was informed at its meeting today that Food & Civil Supplies Department will issue temporary ration cards in Mela area. Besides, 17 domestic gas agencies have been entrusted responsibility to supply gas cylinders. For supply of milk, 145 temporary centres will also be set up. Transportation of food stuff was also discussed. The meeting also decided that mobile numbers of fair price shops, milk parlours and inspectors of weights & measurement and food will also be displayed at Zone and Sector offices.

Campaign for polythene-free Simhashta

A campaign is going on to make Simhastha polythene-free. Members of the committee constituted for it will impress upon devotees not to use polythene in Mela area. To dissuade use of polythene, Dona-Pattals and steel utensils will be made available in adequate numbers in Mela area.
