No more moles

Friday - March 25, 2016 2:01 pm , Category : WTN SPECIAL

Moles are basically incorrect accumulation of cells that occur on a certain part of the body. They generally appear by the age of 30 and sometimes disappear on their own. However, not all may vanish and sometimes occur at spot that could give an unpleasant appearance. Moles could be raised, flat, rough, smooth and even with hair and could be removed with the help of a dermatologist or even with home remedies.

WTN brings a few easy to do tips that could help you get rid of moles and that too without scars.

Home remedies

Iodine

Iodine is good for sensitive skin. Cleanse the area and apply petroleum jelly on the area around the mole. Dip a bud in iodine (5%) and directly apply it on the mole. Do this for 4-5 days thrice.  Leave every application for 4-5 hours. Give a gap of few days and repeat. Iodine penetrates the cells and ensures cell death. Sometimes, there may be a little tingling sensation, but iodine may work gently without leaving a scar.

Castor oil & baking soda

Castor oil disperses pathological accumulation and eliminates unusual growths, and baking soda exfoliates the skin.

In a glass bowl mix a pinch of baking soda and castor oil and gently apply on the patch. Leave it overnight or everyday twice for a few hours and wash it with water. Repeat the process as it may take weeks to disappear.

Onion juice, apple cider vinegar & grapefruit seed

Onion is acidic in nature and works really well on moles and evens out skin tones.  Dip a bud in fresh onion juice and use it on the mole for 30 minutes. Rinse it with clean water. Do this thrice everyday for four weeks. The same procedure can be done for apple cider vinegar.

Similarly, apply a drop of grapefruit seed extract on the mole and leave it for a couple of hours. This can be done at least twice a day for a month. Also, you can mix one part of grapefruit seed extract and mix with 10 parts of avocado oil and leave it on the mole for 15-20 minutes daily.  It is acidic in nature and packed with vitamins and minerals.

Garlic

Garlic has natural enzymes that break down the pigments causing mole formation. When applied on flat moles, garlic paste can lighten it almost immediately.

However, before the paste is applied, disinfect the area with alcohol or a disinfectant and cover the surrounding area with petroleum jelly or oil. Garlic could burn the skin causing redness and irritation. Leave the paste overnight and you may secure it with a bandage. Repeat the procedure for at least 5-6 days.

Radish

High on antioxidants, radish slices can be placed directly on the mole 2-3 times a day for at least a month before you start seeing the result.

Frankincense/ Oregano oil

Frankincense is an essential oil and works as an astringent while reducing moles. Mix frankincense with olive oil and dab it on the mole. You may leave it overnight or apply it for 3-4 hours every day.  This must be repeated every day for a week. Frankincense has sesquiterpenes that stimulates brain to control emotions and increases leukocyte activity.

Similarly, oregano essential oil also has phenols, monoterpenes and other elements like carvacrol, gamma-terpinene, para-cymene, beta caryophyllene, myrcene and thymol apart from sesquiterpenes. It is antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, antiviral and is an immune stimulant oil.  Mix one part of oregano oil with almond oil and apply on the mole. Since oregano is really strong, it applying it once is more than enough.  It may lighten within a week and vanish in 2-3 weeks.

Tea tree oil

Tea tree essential oil is a great healer while treating wounds and infections. However, this may not be really good for those with sensitive skin or those prone to allergies. Soak a cotton bud with the essential oil and apply it on the mole for 3 hours. Repeat this 3 times a day for 4-5 weeks to see the difference.

Flaxseed/ linseed oil

Flaxseed oil softens and loosens the moles around the edges and is thus very effective in removing raised moles.  Flaxseed or linseed oils have excellent healing agents like fatty acids and EFAs which protects cell membranes and bars damaged ones. Make a fine paste of fresh ground flax seeds and honey and apply it on the area. Remove it after an hour and repeat the formula for a few weeks.

Honey

Apart from its edible goodness, honey is extremely effective against moles. It contains anti bacterial and several if mixed with flaxseed oil and dabbed on the mole. A few hours every day can clear them.

Aloe vera/ Dandelion root

Aloe vera’s acidic properties lighten and remove the moles completely.  Once you extract the gel from the leaf it must be applied directly on the part and covered with a bandage. This process must be repeated everyday for at least 30 days.

Dandelion roots need to be washed and cleaned using a sharp knife or scissors. Squeeze the root till a milky sap comes out. Apply it to the mole and gently massage for a few minutes. Do this 2-3 times a day for 15 days.

Pineapple

Pineapple has ample enzymes that break the outer layers of moles. A slice of fresh pineapple or juice soaked in cotton ball or slice mixed with a generous amount of coarse sea salt enhances its effect.  Leave the mixture on the mole for a few hours or overnight.

Pomegranate

Pomegranate has bioactive compounds with highest antioxidant properties in its peel. Grind dry pomegranate peel to make fine powder and add little lime juice to make a paste. Apply this paste on the area every day for 2-3 weeks.

Banana peel

Since ages unripe banana peels have been used effectively to clear moles. Place a tiny piece of the peel (white touching the skin) on the mole. If you intend to leave it overnight secure it with a bandage. Its anti-oxidants will work on the moles.

Coriander

Coriander is easily available at anytime of the year. Coriander treatment for moles is really safe, effective, non-messy and inexpensive.  Application of freshly crushed coriander leaves on the mole or 30 minutes works really well. This could be repeated for 5-6 weeks every day.
