Alert tourists spot dead tigress at Pench

Saturday - March 26, 2016 4:26 pm , Category : WTN SPECIAL

Tourists at Pench Tiger Reserve spotted a dead tigress and informed the forest authorities on Monday evening. The tourists, who were on a jungle safari, first thought that the feline was asleep, but when there was absolutely no movement for a long time, they got suspicious and alerted the forest department.

The reserve is on the border of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.

Soon, a team of experts reached the spot and confirmed the report.

Initial reports claim the tigress – named Baghin Nullaha – is a mother of four cubs and has been spotted in the same area on several occasions before. However, the reason for the animal’s death is not yet known.
