Mukesh Ambani leads Indians, while Bill Gates is world’s richest: Forbes 2016
After additions, comebacks, old contenders and more, Forbes 2016 Billionaires List is finally out with Microsoft founder Bill Gates once again topping the list for the third consecutive time.
Bill Gates, with a net worth of $75 billion, has held the top position 17 times. He has been closely followed by Spains’s fashion retailer Zara Amancio Ortega moved two steps up to the second position, 85-year old Warren Buffett on the third and Mexico’s Carlos Slim Helu who stepped down from second to fourth position.
The others who followed them include, Amazon’s 52-yearold CEO Jeff Bezon with net worth $45.2B, facebook’s 31-year old Mark Zuckerberg with net worth $44.6B, Oracle’s 71-year-old Larry Ellison at $43.6B, Michael Bloomberg of Bloomberg LP with $40B, Charles Koch and David Koch of diversified sharing the same position with $39.6 B each and L’Oreal’s Liliane Bettencourt with $36.1B.
The 2016 billionaires list has a total of 84 Indians with 58-year-old Reliance Industries Limited Chairman Mukesh Ambani topping the chart at 36th position and with a net worth of $19.3 B. Close on heels is the Pharma Magnate Dilip Shanghvi of Sun Pharmaceuticals with a net weight of $16.9B at tech tycoons Wipro Limited chairman Azim Premji with $15B and Co-founder of HCL Group Shiv Nadar with a net worth of 11.1 billion. The other Indians include India’s vaccine king Cyrus Poonawalla, steel baron Laxmi Mittal, Kumar Birla of Aditya Birla group and more.
