Entertainment industry reacts to Pratyusha Banerjee’s death
The news of Pratyusha Banerjee’s death (the older Anandi from tele-serial Balika Badhu) rocked the entire glamour industry and her fans on Friday evening. Touted to be a strong willed lady, Pratyusha’s extreme step is raking up several questions. WTN spoke to a few people from the industry and this is what they had to say.
Avika Gor, the little Anandi before Pratyusha took over, was shocked when she learnt about the news from friends in the industry. She says, “There is a difference of about 7 years between us and we were very friendly though we never had a chance to work together. This was a very extreme step, but she never came across as a person who was depressed. I have simply no words to express my sorrow.”
When WTN spoke with an emotionally upset Smita Bansal, who played Pratyusha’s mother in the telesoap, said she was not in a state to speak. She said, “What happened is beyond my thoughts. I could never in my wildest dreams have thought something like this would ever happen. We two had spent a lot of time together on the sets. That is all I can say.”
Unhappy with the way few celebrities known to Pratyusha were reacting to the news veteran actor Raza Murad while speaking with WTN said, “People indulging in sensationalising or giving random statements must hold their horses. He added, “The investigations are on and let the law take its own course. Yes, I agree that it surprises me to know that a lively girl, Pratyusha, who was always seen smiling commit such an act or meet such a fate.” He further said, “Let us wait for the postmortem report and the probe to be over before pointing fingers at anyone.”
Dolly Bhindra, who claims to be really close to Pratyusha Banerjee, and television actor Manish Raisinghan of Sasural Simar Ka fame refused to comment.
