Beeswax love you
Most of us confuse between honey and beeswax. But while honey is the result of bees collecting nectar and pollens by older bees, beeswax is the base of beehive and comes from the abdomens of younger bees who place it into the hexagonal cells to make a comb. It is a tough wax formed from a combination of various compounds and isn’t sticky like honey.
Beeswax has been known for its multiple uses including paints for ancient Egyptian artists. It is a major ingredient used to make shoe and furniture polish, candles, modeling waxes and even coating cheese to preserve it. It is used in the production of pharmaceuticals, food, and cosmetics too.
WTN talks about the advantages of beeswax
Shields liver
A Korean study reveals that the alcohol in honeycombs and their antioxidant properties protect the liver from fatty diseases. The beeswax helps stabilise liver functions and revitalises the liver.
Pampers skin
Beeswax hydrate and lock the moisture within the skin. It is biologically ‘alive’ even after it is processed and is extensively used in many cosmetic products. This protects and repairs rough, damaged or chapped skin and since it is comedogenic in nature it does not clog pores or suffocate the skin. The vitamin A in it too is a boon for skin cells. It can be combined with vitamin E or almond oil for nourishing skin including lips and heels.
Treats skin conditions
Its anti-bacterial properties keep the skin clean and are an excellent cure for itchy skin, diaper dermatitis, psoriasis, rosacea and eczema if applied along with honey and olive oil. Its strong, antiseptic, healing and anti-inflammatory properties also help treat acne. It soothes irritated skin, minor cuts, scrapes and wounds by providing a cover to the affected region.
Prevents & treats stretch marks: Stretch marks happen due to weight gain or weight loss. Mixing beeswax with coconut, grapeseed or wheat germ oil and vitamin E oil prevents and treats stretch marks.
Hemorrhoids & anal fissures
Beeswax is a natural and effective remedy for hemorrhoids and anal fissures. Mixing it with olive oil provides instant relief when applied topically. You may also use honey with olive oil.
Stimulates hair growth
Beeswax work better than hair gels and mousse. It is used extensively in shampoos and conditioners to make hair soft and shiny. It moisturises the hair and makes them manageable for styling. Also it is a natural stimulant hair growth. It also adds volume to hair and strengthens the hair.
Side effects
Though non-toxic in nature, if beeswax are consumed in large quantities it may lead to intestinal blockages.
