Bhopal: Home and Jails Minister Babulal Gaur has said that labourers are not servants, but nation-builders. Gaur was addressing a public meeting of BHEL area labourers on May Day here on Sunday.
Gaur said that since inception of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, he has been waging a war actively for interests of labourers. He said that in early days, no facility was given to unorganized and contract labourers by BHEL. They did not have right to form union. He organised labourers, formed their union and helped contract labourers get rights through sustained efforts.
Gaur said that there is strength in unity. Mazdoor Sangh’s symbol ‘closed fist’ symbolizes this. He urged labourers to remain organised for protection of their rights and contribute to nation-building with hard work. Remembering labourers’ struggle on May Day, Gaur said that it started in Chicago in year 1886. The state government is implementing a lot of labour welfare schemes. Everyone should have knowledge about it. He said that Labour Department should apprise labourers of these schemes and ensure benefits to them.
Former Mayor and Patron on BHEL Theka Shramik Sanyukt Morcha Krishna Gaur and President Barelal Ahirwar also spoke on the occasion.
Former Mayor Chandramukhi Yadav, R.A. Gupta, Somdutt Shastri, Narayan Pal, Corporators G.R. Nagar, Hari Shankar Mishra, Seema Yadav, Archana Parmar, Narayani Ahirwar and Rambabu Patidar were also present on the occasion.-windowtonews
