Krishna’s Tryst With Comarade’s Marathon

Krishna Sirothiya a youth from Bhopal has made India proud by participating in the legendary marathon “The Comrade’s Marathon.
The comrades Marathon is from Durban to Pietermaritzburg. It started as a tribute to the South African soldiers who lost their lives during World War I. Now, it has become a South African long distance running race of legends and its popularity as an ultra marathon has spread around the world.

Krishna Sirothia from Bhopal also participated in this legendary marathon at Durban and embarked the name of Bhopal with proud.

Krishna underwent very high and tough training for this participation though running is just an hobby which fulfills his passion. He talked to WTN from Durban about his passion (Comrades Marathon).

Krishna is working at citi’s TTS technologies group in CSC Pune, a soft spoken person however tough and on same time swift on earth Krishna runs bare foot.

With hundreds of participant at comrade Krishna  was running without shoes. As this is his hobby to run bare foot he laughs and says my friends call me krish as I run swiftly on earth bare foot…

He build the required running base by running for the past three years regularly – training and running in several half and full marathons  and one ultra marathon along with his working schedule.

Last  week was the peak of his training when he ran 69 km ( started at 3am and finished at 9:40 am).Training worked as per the plan and he completed the final Marathon of 90km in 11 hrs.

Krishna says “Comrades marathon is called the ultimate human race and the toughest footrace in the world because of the time constraint and the most difficult route it offers.”

Never ending hills when your body is tired and in pain. One needs to have mental strength and passion to push your body once you cross the 60km mark.

The moment I crossed the finish line, I was so elated and happy that I forgot all my pain for the moment.
