Ditch thy gym – Spend time outdoors and still loose calories
Making exercising a routine isn’t an exciting idea. But how about spending time outdoors and still loosing calories? So, try sweating it out outside. Yes, out there in the open. Well, a place with scenic beauty isn’t necessary, but the closest park will do the trick. While, brisk walking lunges, jump squats and step-ups onto a park bench will tone your lower half, push-ups, pull-ups on the monkey bars, and tricep dips will chisel your upper half. Even if people pump steel in the gym, at heart they always long to breathe fresh in the open – Not because it is cheaper, but it’s anytime better. With WTN count the blessings of working out in the open
Breathe better: There is nothing like fresh air. So, breathe deeper and breathe better and this is what nature allows you to do – something that you are deprived of when exercising indoors.
Nature elevates your mood: Chirping birds, trilling crickets, fluttering butterflies, variety of flowers, sunshine and everything else around you in the open elevates your mood and spirit. It also reduces stress and the fresh air helps release the brain chemical serotonin which keeps you going happy.
Revitalise your mind: While exercising people tend to forget that mind also needs some revitalizing. Exercising outdoors increases the energy level and studies reveal that it dips confusion, anger, depression and tension levels too.
You concentrate more on yourself: Sometimes at the gym, you could be distracted or tend to speak with those exercising along with you. But when you are out there, the results are far better. It helps boost self esteem.
Make it sporty: You can make outdoor exercising sporty by sometimes using hula-hoop, skipping rope etc.
Better chances of continuing regime: Exercising in mirrored-rooms with heavy steel around could be quite boring. Because the environment and temperature changes every minute, there are better chances to sticking to outdoor exercising regime.
Love the sunshine: When the sunrays come in contact with the skin, it produces vitamin D, which is important for bone health, strengthening immunity and metabolic function. It also helps produce the feel good hormones called endorphin.
No more getting bored: Running on the grass is a lot more fun and enjoyable than stomping feet and sweating on the treadmill and keeping counting calories on the meter. One may also try going to new parks or change routes. This way you may end up exercising a little more than you actually intended to when outdoors.
Burn more calories: Outdoor exercises constantly pose challenges for our bodies. The inclines, declines, obstacles, working against the wind and uneven ground make the task difficult and even those muscles that generally go unattended at the gym may get to work.
Well, one may join the gym, but for just for those hot, steamy showers, saunas, pools, and spas that soothe your body.
