Rs 3610 crore revenue from minerals in State
Bhopal : The modern technology is being used in exploration and discoveries of mineral deposits. Last year, the state earned Rs 3610.56 crore as mineral revenue that is 102 percent. More than Rs 1000 crore revenue has been collected in five months during April to August this year from mineral resources. The state has monopoly in diamond mines. Additionally, other minerals like coal, copper, manganese, iron ore, limestone, dolomite, bauxite, rock phosphate, clay, laterite are available in the state.
Auction process is being carried out for acceptance of main minerals in the state, after implementation of new act by the union government. The process will generate revenue of Rs 30 crore for the state per year. Besides, process is underway for earmarking mineral blocks of limestone, manganese, bauxite, iron etc. E-auction process has been adopted first time for miner minerals like sand, stone, quarries. It brought transparency in the system. E-auction process will generate ten times revenue only through sand in miner mineral category.
The e-TP (transit pass) system has been put in place for simplification of transportation system which curbed illegal exploration, transportation and storage in the state. Computerisation and construction of separate mining office have been completed. New office buildings are being constructed for regional offices in Rewa and Jabalpur. – WTN
