Stern Action To Keep Aaganwadis Closed on Vaccination Day

Bhopal: Joint meeting of Women and Child Development department and Health and Family Welfare department was taken by the Minister for Women and Child Development Archana Chitnis and Minister for Public Health and Family Welfare Rustom Singh.

It is decided in the meeting that vaccination should be carried out aaganwadi wise not cluster wise. Aaganwadi center should not be kept close on the day of vaccination otherwise stern action will be taken. A.N.M. Asha workers with coordination of aaganwadi workers will identify the malnourished children. Moreover, Chief Medical Officer and CDPO will conduct joint tour to monitor the activities on the vaccination day. Instructions have been given to conduct meeting necessarily every month at the block level to review the situation.

Minister Chitnis informed that target has been fixed to make the teenage girls anemia free till September 2018. Hence, hemoglobin of teenage girls should be registered in the village register. Iron and deworming tablets should be given to the teenage girls in all the government schools.

Principal Secretary Ayush Shikha Dubey, Principal Secretary Health Gouri Singh, Principal Secretary Women and Child Development J.N. Kansotia, Commissioner Integrated Child Development Pushplata Singh, Director National Health Mission V. Kiran Gopal were present in the meeting.-WTN
