Principal Secretaries of Health and WCD conduct Joint Tour of Sheopur District

Bhopal : Principal Secretary of Public Health and Family Welfare Gouri Singh and Principal Secretary of Women and Child Development J.N. Kansotiya conducted the joint tour of Khori and Kalmi Sahrana villages of Karahal block of district Sheopur and apprised themselves about the ground realities.

Both the officers deliberated with the villagers and public representatives and gathered information. Moreover, both the officers held meeting with the officers and employees of health and women and child development department and inspected the Nutrition rehabilitation center at Karahal.

During the tour, both the officers were informed by the villagers of Khori that no death has occurred in the village. Principal Secretaries toured the village Kalmi Sahrana and organized choupal at the village.

Sarpanch  Ramdayal Adiwasi informed that name came up in connection to death due to malnutrition that name of children fathers Mohar Singh and Brijesh Adiwaasi which have been shown in the list do not reside in this village. Similarly, death of a child of Lalu Adiwaasi which has been mentioned is issueless. No child has died in the family of Pappu Adiwassi.

Also, it is informed by the mother Mira Adiwaasi that her girl child was born in the seven month and was not suffering from any illness, she suddenly felt feverish after she fed the girl and she died which was informed 10-15 days ago as death of 2 months girl child named Malli of Mahavir Adiwasi.

Further, villagers have informed that 4 children out of seven low weight children of the village were admitted in the NRC at Sheopur. Villagers said that there is no disease spreading in the village and not a single child is seriously ill.

Meeting at Karahal Hospital

In the joint meeting of Health and Women and Child Development, the Principal Secretary Gouri Singh has issued warning that action to relieve from the post will be taken against the concerned NLM, Aaaganwadi workers and Asha workers for death due to malnutrition and for not providing the proper treatment.

The Principal Secretary Women and Child Development J.N. Kansotiya issued instructions that vacant hall and room in the hospital should be used for NRC. Beds should be increased from 20 to 60 in the current NRC. He directed the officials to start this arrangement from tomorrow itself. Both the officers apprised themselves about availability of medicines, vaccination, examination of hemoglobin and blood pressure and gathered information from the NLM.

Both the officers gave directives that 11 joint teams of health and women and child development will go door to door of each and every village and conduct survey as regard to the malnutrition. Identify the malnourished children, low weight children and children suffering from diseases and will present report within four days.

Beside this treatment will be given by the child disease experts from Sheopur every Monday at NRC Karahal. Further, seriously ill and most malnourished children found during the survey should be sent by ambulance and admitted in the NRC Sheopur. Janani express service should be sought in this matter. The officers’ duo also visited the nutrition rehabilitation center at Karahal and apprised themselves about the health of children from their parents.

Inspected Flour Plant at Kali Talai

Both the officers inspected the flour plant run by the self help groups of village Kali Talai and apprised themselves about the activities at flour plant from the women of self help groups.-WTN
