MP Travel Mart in Bhopal from Oct 14-16

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Travel Mart will be held in Bhopal from  October 14 and 16. About seventy foreign delegates from 25 countries, 175 domestic delegates, 80 delegates of travel and tour operators associations are expected to attend the travel mart. Chief Minister  Shivraj Singh Chouhan will inaugurate it.

Discussion will be held on prospect of tourism in State, increase in tourists, investment in tourism, promotion of interregional tourism, hotels and hospitality in the travel mart. A tourism exhibition will be a major attraction. Secretary, tourism and Managing Director of MP Tourism Development Corporation  Hariranjan Rao gave this information in a roadshow in Dehli on Saturday Night.

Rao said that tourists’ attraction towards state had increased. Useful discussion will be held on prospects of tourism in the travel mart and it is expected to give boost to tourism sector. Representatives of Indian Association of Tour Operators Association, Travel Agent Association of India, Federation of Hotel and Association  and Adventure Tour Operators Association will attend it.

Informing about main features of tourism in the state,  Rao said that Tajmahal of Bhopal, forts in Govindgarh (Rewa) and Madhavgarh (Satna) will be developed as heritage hotels. A convention centre of international level will be built in Khajuraho. Historical Minto Hall in Bhopal is being developed as convention centre.

Three convention centres are already available in Indore. Water-based tourism is being promoted along with religious tourism places. Destination-based tourism is being developed in the State. Also, special attention has been made on special zone of tourism.  Private players have been invited for development of tourism.  Rao informed about state’s tourism policy, heritage policy, way side amenities (WSA) in question-answer session.

On the occasion  Subhash Goyal,  Pranav Sarkar,  P.D. Khanna, officials of tourism, travel, tour operators associations, AOTOI delegates and officials of tourism corporation were present.-WTN
