World Malaria Day.

Thursday - April 25, 2024 5:27 pm , Category : WTN SPECIAL

April 25th marks World Malaria Day that is an occasion to reflect on the global efforts to combat one of the oldest and deadliest diseases known to humankind. It was established by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2007, this day serves as a reminder of the urgent need to prevent, diagnose and treat malaria, particularly in regions where it remains a significant public health threat.

To accelerate progress towards malaria elimination, a multi-faceted approach is necessary. Like Innovative Technologies, Community Engagement, Health Systems Strengthening and Climate Resilience where addressing the impact of climate change on malaria transmission will be implemented by adaptive measures such as early warning systems, vector control strategies tailored to changing environmental conditions and resilient health systems.

On World Malaria Day, it is crucial to recognise both the progress made and the challenges that lie ahead in the fight against malaria. By redoubling our efforts and embracing innovative strategies, we can work towards a future where malaria is no longer a major public health threat and ensure healthier and more prosperous communities worldwide.
