"A girl is not a girl without Silver," an old Miao saying. Xijiang Miao is a village of silversmiths located near Kaili city, China. Name Qiahnu Miao Village also calls the town as some thousand house it makes, and thousand is said- Qiahnu in mandarin.
On the beautiful side of southeast Chinese region, the village enjoys a beautiful natural environment with lush green mountains and spring of pure waters. Villagers are silversmith by profession and master of creativity with silver.

Booming fire form the silver furnace warms up the domestic lives. Silver is the life for Miao people. In Miao culture, the woman is the head of the family and has to carry significant silver over her head to get married. The families make their silver jewellery at home and sell it at the weekend market.
Miao jewellery is entirely handmade which means no two pieces are identical but are impressive enough. The handiwork is the spinning charm of silver with the craftsmen's skill to impress. Earlier in the past, the Miao were sinking into the mainstream as they were heading to nearby cities in search of livelihood. However, now tourism has bought up hope, and the villagers are more than ever keen of their profession as the silversmith with interest in reviving their rich cultural traditions, with the contribution of continuous growth in the tourism industry. -Window To News
