How positive thinking helps people to achieve

There is no greater self motivating factor than positive thinking. We are what we think. Man is a thinking animal and his thoughts affect his emotions, which in turn affect his routine, habits and character. If one is negative and regressive in thought, his day to day actions will be guided by the same philosophy of pessimism and every effort will be a hopeless endeavour.

While the one with a positive outlook on life and situations will always find a way out of the impossible dead ends by his power to innovate, explore and improvise. For the positivist there is always hope and glimmer of possibilities even in the most despondent of situations, while for the negativist, even the brightest chances are lost for want of enterprise and willingness because he loses the battle even before fighting it.

He is the one who surrenders beforehand for the fear of failure. The positivist digs out his chances, while the naysayer sees no chance. This negation of possibilities, the negation of the belief that yes things do happen, situations do change and fortune favours the brave makes the person a born loser, who takes even his success with a pinch of salt. A positive thought fills a person with energy, enthusiasm and ambition that propels him to break barriers and push his own limits.

A positive thought is a matter of the spirit—it can be felt, not told or understood—the spirit feels elated and the whole being of the person gets infused with a new light of confidence. He starts seeing the world differently, he knows that nothing can go wrong and all challenges can be surmounted. He does not feel despondent or rejected even in the face of small failures because of his belief in himself and the goodness of life.

He knows this shall also pass and a new day will hold new hopes for him. This makes him a perennial optimist for whom darkness is only a phase before the brightness of morning. For the pessimist, every night is for eternity and the brightest of days are only phases set to be over soon.

This is an inherently flawed outlook that only prompts the degenerative sprit in a person. The negativist will always find reasons to whimper and make the worse of no matter how much he has; the positivist will make the best of whatever littlest he has and turn it into an occasion of happiness.

Unlike his counterpart, the negativist hesitates to take decisions. He is suspicious and cagey. His every move is fraught with unfounded fears and uncertainty. He is furtive and speculative, procrastinating and rigid who won’t listen to suggestions. The positive person inflexible, liberal and accommodative; he doesn’t fear ups and downs and is not ruffled by aberrations.

This only makes him more endearing, trustworthy and formidable. It enhances his stature and gives him more manoeuvring space to align with situations as they present themselves. Ultimately, due to his outlook he is the winner. He is a solution maker than a solution seeker. He makes his own roads because he always looks out for something better ahead. Even if nothing good comes his way, he always finds out some reason to smile at the end of the day.- Window To News
