  Ingredients:
 
8 holy basil leaves (tulsi)
1 piece cinnamon (dalchini), about 1-inch in length
1⁄2 teaspoon dried ginger powder (sonth)
4 black peppercorns (sabut kali mirch)
4 sultanas (munakka)
1 teaspoon jaggery (gur), optional
1 teaspoon lime juice, optional


Method:
  1. Pour 500 ml water into a saucepan. Add holy basil (tulsi) leaves, cinnamon Dalchini), dried ginger powder (sonth), black peppercorns (kali mirch), and sultanas (munakka) and bring to a boil on a medium flame. Boil till reduced to half, so that about 250 ml remains.
     
  2. Remove from heat and strain the kadha. Pour into 2 cups and add the optional jaggery (gur) and lime juice to taste if using. Serve immediately.
