Pacific School Games Championship-2017 School Education Minister of State to Head Indian Team

Bhopal: Minister for School Education has been nominated as the Head of the Delegation of the Indian Players Team by the School Games Federation of India for Pacific School Games Championship to be held in Adelaide of Australia. Team consisting of 180 players includes 18 players of the state. The players who were the part of the winner team of National Hockey Competition held last year and are eligible on the basis of age category have been selected for Pacific School Games.
Beside this, swimmers who had won the medals in the National competition of swimming and diving held last year have been selected. Selection trial was organized at Bhopal to select best players of netball and softball competition. Those players who had participated in the 62nd National School Games in 2016-17 and hold eligibility on the basis of fixed age currently were included in the trial. In this way, after the selection, a list of total 29 players including 7 of hockey, 7 of swimming & diving and 5 players of netball beside 10 players of softball was sent to the School Games Federation of India.
Commissioner Public Instruction Neeraj Dubey has informed that the representatives of School Games Federation of India were present in the Directorate of Public Instruction, Bhopal to collect passports and other documents from the selected players from November 6 to 9. Passports from 18 players out of 29 players were received during this period. Seven players out of the remaining 11 players due to the passport and other reasons and 4 players for presenting passports after the fixed date, have not been included by the Federation in the team. As per the directives of the Federation, 2 assistant coach and one officer have been proposed as officials with the players. Beside this, 2 representatives of the state have been appointed as office bearers with the entire Indian team by the Federation.-Windowtonews
