Second day of Tribal Literature Festival at Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya, Bhopal

Bhopal: The second day of Tribal Literature Festival at Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya, Bhopal was divided in three academic sessions. The session-1st was chaired by Shri Vasant Nirgme and altogether 9 papers were presented by the tribal writers/authors. The second session chaired by Dr. Anil Boro. During this session 11 papers were presented on different themes of tribal language and literatures. In both the session the speakers focused on the oral literature of the tribal's and the endanger tribal language. The speakers have expressed their views, their research and their thought, by narration of poems and songs. All of the speakers were of the opinion that due to the introduction of modern languages likes English, which is today being considered as the essential language for education as well as for getting the Job. This is the main reason; our children and the present generation do not want to learn their own language, inspite prefer to be educated in modern language system. Among the other causes, English environment of family, non teaching of tribal language in the family or society like Dr. Jowakim warned that if the mother-father do not speak this own language, the same will not be transferred to their children and finally their language will Vanish. During the presentation the Choudhari, Meena, Oraon, Gondi, Kharia, Lepcha languages culture of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh were put on before the audience.

      The third session was dedicated to the tribal film show. In this show a documentary based on the theme Santhali writings. The film namely "The four Santhali Writers" tries to indicate the necessity and use, as well as the problems in publishing the Santhali language in general and other tribal languages is particular. The session ended with the vote of thanks by the Chaired. Kalanjali, exhibition cum sale of tribal paintings of paper mache, wooden toys, clothes, handicrafts, etc. are being sold at reasonable prices.

Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya, Indira publishing House, Landmark, Book Paradise, Bhopal and Gyan Book Private Limited, New Delhi have participated in book exhibition on tribal literature
"Aahar" is  the major attraction of this programme organized in Hajong residence near Vithi Sankul. People here can enjoy the delights of traditional dishes of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and West Bengal like makka ki roti, baingan ka bharta, lahsun and dhaniya chutney, gud, pooranpoli, kheer, bhaat, daal, baingan bhaja, phoolgobi daalna, maacher jhol, chutney, patali gud, payash made from special king of grains known as mota anaj. All the food will carry nutri-tional value and will be available at nominal price for everyone from 1 pm to 4 pm. On Friday, traditional Bheeli food will be served.

Programmes were also organised in which Gudum and korku dance of Madhya Pradesh, lingo karsaddanceofGadchiroli, Maharashtra which tells tales of Gond folklores and songs are suing in gondi language. Kakasar dance of Murita trihals of Chhattisgarh was also presented in which dancers dance while singing 'shalik shilo rilo data' and give the message of happiness and mutual brotherhood.-Windowtonews
