Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board (MPPCB) is set to set up a LED display at the Upper Lake Bhopal, to display the real-time water Quality status.

The location of the set up as told is near the Gauhar Mahal opposite to the Raja Bhoj Statue. The Officials said it is for the first time that a permanent and continuous real-time water monitoring system would be placed in any water body of the state. In the past, such system installed in river Kshipra during the Kumbh Mela, which taken out after the Kumbh was over and would now be established in the Upper Lake here at Bhopal, and this will be permanent, officials told.

The real-time checker has automatic sensors. The system will asses the water quality of the parameters including biological oxygen demand, conductivity and pH value. This continuous. It will judge the water quality on metrics, including biological oxygen demand, conductivity and pH. The objective of implementing such mechanism is not only to monitor the water quality but also to bring awareness among the citizens so that they too help in keeping the lake clean, the officials added.- Window To New
