Revenue Minister Gupta distributes certificates for electricity bill waiver in Sabri Nagar
Bhopal: Minister for Revenue, Science and Technology Umashankar Gupta distributed certificates for electricity bills waiver under the Saral Bijli Bill Scheme in Sabri Nagar. Electricity bills worth about Rs. 24 lakh 50 thousand of 276 persons have been waived off in Sabri Nagar. It may be mentioned that electricity bills of over 5 thousand persons worth about Rs. One crore have been waived off in Kotra Zone.
Revenue Minister Gupta has said that on one hand the government has started to give wheat, rice and salt at the rate of Re. One per k.g., on the other the Union Government has made poor women got rid of smoke through Ujjawala Yojana and provided pucca houses. He further informed that the Mukhya Mantri Kanyadaan/Nikah Yojana, Ladli Laxmi Yojana has made poor free from the worry of their marriage. The government will bear fee of children of families registered under the Sambal Yojana. An amount of Rs. 4 thousand to pregnant women and Rs. 12 thousand will be given after delivery. Moreover a sum of Rs. 4 lakh in case of death due to accident, Rs. 2 lakh in case of normal death and Rs. One lakh in case of permanent disability will be given. Rs. 5 thousand will be given to perform final funeral rites. Electricity bill at the rate of Rs. 200 per month will be charged. Gupta further informed that all those persons of the city, who are not income tax payers and are not in government services, will be entitled under the scheme.
