Farmers should undertake animal husbandry with agriculture to enhance income: Governor Smt. Patel

Bhopal: The Governor Smt. Anandiben Patel said that if farmers undertake animal husbandry along with agriculture then they will earn additional profit and agriculture will become a profitable occupation for them. Smt. Patel was dedicating the 100 seat Boys Hostel building built at a cost of Rs. One crore 50 lakh and was performing bhoomi poojan of Agriculture Science Centre building in Bhausahab Bhuskute Loknyas Campus at Govind Nagar Vankhedi. She also planted mango saplings in the premises.

Smt. Patel said that farmers must visit the Farmer Agriculture Center of the district to assimilate modern techniques of agriculture. Big farmers should use new techniques in their half acre land and adopt organic farming. She told that farmers must maintain register to keep record of their input cost and profit like businessmen, who maintain register to keep account of their income and expenditure. If any person wants to become a successful professional then he/she should start maintaining register. The Governor further said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has intention that agriculture income of every farmer should enhance to double. The farmers’ agriculture income will become double certainly, if agriculture scientists and persons of all the sections of the society come together and conduct new experiments. She suggested farmers not to use chemical fertlisers and said that farmers must avail benefit of the subsidy being given presently on drip irrigation and sprinklers by the Agriculture Department.

The Director of Science Center Jabalpur Shri Anupam Mishra stated that 51 agriculture science centers are functional in the state. The agriculture scientists are experimenting on the variety of onion and tomato. Common youth are being benefitted with employment by the Agriculture and Science Center.

The Governor Smt. Patel presented citation letters to students Ashish Patel and Babita Vishnoi selected by the Agriculture College, Jabalpur. She also honoured craftsmen of clay and bamboo art. The Governor released handwritten card and magazine published by the trust on this occasion. Moreover, she distributed sanction letters, gas connections and stoves to the beneficiaries.

Governor inspects laboratory of Saraswati Gramoday Vidyalaya

The Governor Smt. Anandiben Patel inspected English and Maths lab of Saraswati Gramoday Vidyalaya situated at Bhausahab Bhuskute Loknyas campus. She also observed exhibition focusing agriculture, sericulture, animal husbandry organized by the Agriculture Engineering Department. Smt. Patel was apprised that 40 percent subsidy is being given on paddy sowing instrument under the custom hiring and it takes less time in paddy sowing on one acre and consume just 2 litre of diesel. She also saw Mukhya Mantri Solar Pump. This 3 h.p. pump works from 8 to 10 hours.
