Chief Election Commissioner clears about 'bogus' names in voter list

AUG 28 (WTN) - Among the complaints of 'disturbances' of the voter list in Madhya Pradesh, Chief Election Commissioner O.P. Rawat himself has clarified that the voter was not a 'bogus' but a 'duplicate' voter in the list. The Chief Election Commissioner, who arrived in Bhopal, said about the ‘discrepancies’ in the voter list, "The Election Commission is taking complaints from all political parties seriously, but in the investigation of complaints about 'Bogus' voters it has been found that they were not 'bogus' but they were 'duplicate' voters."

According to the chief election commissioner, “work of removal of names of voters who have more than one name is being done.” He assured that the EC will ‘solve’ all kinds of problems of all political parties before the elections.

Chief Election Commissioner O.P. Rawat, who visited Bhopal on a tour, also held a meeting with the chief secretary and DGP and reviewed the law and order and administrative preparedness of the state. It is being said that after the review, the situation for preparations for the elections will be decided.
