Two-day regional conference on Good Governance begins in Bhopal
Bhopal: The pervasiveness of the Agriculture and Education sectors covers a major portion of the population. There is a need to make a work plan and implement it in accordance with the local needs so that the benefits of the schemes of both these areas reach the lowest level. Technology can be used in both these areas so that the benefits of the schemes can reach out to the far-flung areas. These thoughts were expressed at the regional conference on good governance commenced in Bhopal today.
Presentations were given on the application of information and communication technology in the area of school education in the conference. During the presentation it surfaced that by adopting both these techniques, education can be made to reach out to far-flung areas covering maximum students. Information about experts spread all over the country and the world can be made available to the students immediately. This information will prove to very effective in bringing about qualitative improvement in education.
Collector of Banka in Bihar Kundan Kumar gave information about the “Mera Vidyalaya-Mera Mobile” project launched by him in the district. Through this project, students were given useful information through LCD TVs. Experts gave lessons to the children on difficult topics in an easy manner. He said that the children were taught making use of short videos in the school syllabus. He told that school-on-wheel was used in remote areas. Children’s tests were taken and evaluated in real time through this technology.
In this session, District Collector of Bara in Rajasthan Dr. S.P. Singh gave information about the projects being undertaken in his area. He said that local language was also used to make the primary children understand. LCD TVs are being used in the class room in the project. Children have started taking interest in studies. Enrollment of children in government schools of the area has also increased. There is a noticeable improvement in the examination results of children in Class 12th and 10th Board results. District Collector of Dantewada in Chhattisgarh Saurabh Kumar gave information about the “Padhe Dantewada – Likhe Datewada project.
In the panel discussion held during this session, Principal Secretary School Education, Madhya Pradesh Smt. Dipti Gaud Mukherji told that the dreams of nearly 28 thousand students have been fulfilled through the State government’s Medhavi Vidyarthi Yojana in one year in Madhya Pradesh. He said that Madhya Pradesh government has made efforts in the most effective manner through various schemes for qualitative improvement of school education in the state. Laptops have been distributed to meritorious students to promote them. There is a rise in the number of students who have scored more than 75 percent in the Board exams in Madhya Pradesh.
In the second session, administrative officials gave their presentations on the works being undertaken to double the income of farmers in the states of Gujarat and Punjab. The representatives told that market platforms on mobile have been made available to farmers for sale of their produce. In this field also social media is being used. Maximum farmers are being coordinated and provided benefits through cooperative movement in Gujarat. Pranav Jain of EM-3 Agri Service gave information about the Samadhan Start-up during the session. He told that swarozgar is being made available to youths through custom hiring. Modern agriculture equipment including tractor facility is being made available at these centres.
