IGRMS is organising 'Lai Haroba festival'

Bhopal: The Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya is organising 'Lai Haroba festival' at its premises from 22ndto 26th October, 2018. Traditional ritualistic activities will the main features of this five days long programme.
Sacred Groves are patches of natural or near-natural vegetation, dedicated by local communities to their ancestral spirits or deities. These Groves are protected by local communities usually through customary taboos and sanction with ancestral and ecological implications. IGRMS has initiated number of activities to spread awareness on the cultural and ecological importance of sacred groves. The Meitei community of Manipur celebrates 'Lai Haroba festival' dedicated to their sacred grove "Umang Lai".-Window To News
