Review of Vidhan Sabha election preparations by Commission concludes

Bhopal: The Election Commission of India conducted an extensive review of the preparations in 33 districts of 7 divisions on the last day of the two-day state visit to review the arrangements for Madhya Pradesh assembly elections 2018 at Minto Hall, Bhopal.
Chief Election Commissioner O.P. Rawat, Commissioner duo, Sunil Arora and Ashok Lavasa issued guidelines regarding SVEEP activities, voting percentage, security arrangements, proceedings of the investigating teams and counting of votes in the assembly elections.
The Commission reviewed the activities of the assembly elections in 18 districts of Ujjain, Narmadapuram and Indore division in Indore yesterday. In the first session of the review meeting held in Minto-Hall, Bhopal, poll related activities of 5 divisions was reviewed and in the second session of Bhopal and Sagar division was reviewed. The Commission issued instructions for a widespread campaign for independent, fair, peaceful, accessible, credible moral polling and transparent elections.
The Deputy Election Commissioner of the Commission from Delhi, Dr. Sandeep Saxena, Sudeep Jain and Chandrabhushan Kumar, Director General, Dileep Sharma and Dhirendra Ojha, Principal Secretary Anuj Jaipuria, Additional Director General Shefali Sharan and Chief Electoral Officer of the State VL Kantarao were present in the meeting.
Election Commission conducted district wise review of basic facilities available in electoral rolls and voting centers, EVMs and VVPAT’s, SVEEP campaigns and various training, election expenditure surveillance, adherence to Model Code of Conduct, prohibition of illegal activities, facility for polling booths for disabled voters besides law and order and security arrangements.
