Aamad A programme of the fusion of traditional and western music resonating the beginning of winter

Bhopal: The First day of Aamad, as anticipated was rocking with Naga Folk Blues. Rewben Mashangva commonly known as Guru Rewben showed Bhopal the audacity and range when folk and fusion comes together. This Naga fan of Bob Dylan and Bob Marley enthralled audience with great tunes on his guitar producing a ethnic folk sound like no one can along with that, the four hole flute known as yangkahui, the tingteila (folk fiddle) and his rare cow bell percussion.

In the band performance, Guru Rewben presented five songs written & composed him. He also presented some country songs from Empui tribal song lily the queen of flower and Masti ki basti main, Jindagi to hasti hai, enjoying by the audience at large.  Guru's son Saka who joins him onstage plays a traditional cowbell and sing. A great fan of lyrics of Bob Dylan and Bob Marley mentioned that their poetry and song lyrics influence the artists all over the world. His (Guru Rewben's) country music too has influence of the thought process. He expressed his feelings through guitar sounds. 

A documentary movie titled "Songs of Mashangva", a 82 minute musical film produced & directed by Oinam Doren staring RewbenMashangva was released in 2012 and was selected into the 18th edition of the Lessinia Film Festival in the "Competition" category and was shown in Bosco Chiesanuova, Italy.-Window To News
