EVM and VVPAT in safe custody in Bhopal district

Bhopal: The office of the Chief Electoral Officer informed that polling for the Vidhan Sabha Election 2018, was held on November 28, 2018 and the EVM and VPPAT machines are in safe custody in the Old Jail premises, Bhopal after the voting of 7 assembly constituencies of Bhopal district.
A complaint has been lodged by the Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee that the cameras placed in the strong room remained closed on November 30, 2018 from 8 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. whereas there was no electrical blockage of any kind. Apart from this, it has also been complained that there is a door behind the strong room, situated in Old Jail which is open and which was closed after the complaint made today. With this it has been mentioned that the personnel posted there have given the statement to electronic channels that the cameras were closed in front of the Collector and the S.P. A similar complaint has also been lodged by the Aam Aadmi Party also.
A probe was conducted and report was received by the Collector, Bhopal on the said incident. According to the investigation, the CCTV cameras and the LED screen display outside the strong room were closed as power supply was cut from 8.19 am to 9.35 am on November 30, 2018. For this reason there was no recording during the staid period. To ensure power supply, an additional LED, inverter and generator have also been installed. There is no door behind the strong room and there is only gate to enter the room.
The cameras of the outer door of the strong room and the premises are on. The CAPF and SAF teams have been deployed in two level enclosures for the safety of the strong room. The security forces are securing the logbook and the machines are also completely safe.-Window To News
