Bhopal: The valedictory session of Winter School in IGRMS has been organised today. This session was participated by participants from different fields such as Museology, Anthropology, Doctors, administrators etc. At this session, they participant students have shared their ideas.
They mentioned that through the sessions covered in Winter school, we got to learn heritage, which is crucial as if forms the base of the tangible heritage, a precious most component of Indian heritage. Another significant naming was the entry into the amazing of fascinating world of traditional music from the 'Soura' music in Odisha to the 'Sea Music' of the middle-east. From the discussion on origin of Intangible heritage to an intensive discussion on ethical considerations while documenting intangible heritage, this winter school helped us develop our sensitivity towards a little sidetracked aspect of our own culture.
Prof. Rolf Killious has said that though this programme was participated by the experts and students of different fields and professions from different parts of India, but when he discussed about intangible and tangible cultural heritage of India, they seems similar on their thoughts and areas. He added that he is visiting India for more than 30 years, but he got major changes in culture and traditions of India in a few years. He appealed with the participants to pass their knowledge what they received in Winter school of IGRMS.
While discussing the importance of tangible and intangible culture, the Chief Guest of valedictory function, Dr. R.J. Rao, Vice Chancellor, Barkatullah University, appealed the participants to spread this traditional knowledge system with the present generation and also preserve the same for next generations also. Our country is getting special attention and respect all over the world for its cultural diversity.
Prof. Sarit Kumar Chaudhuri, Director, IGRMS has also briefed the students about field works and its problems and challenges faced by him conducted during different fields in Andhra Pradesh and Arunachal Pradesh. He also added that IGRMS has conserved the intangible heritage in the form of tangible heritage as special exhibition 'Anugunj' in mythological trail.
Prof. Chaudhuri also appealed the participants that they should try to continue the winter school education as part of their life in near future also so that the new generation would get more benefits of the same.
The programme coordinator by Dr. Surya Kumar Pandey introduced the guests while Smt. Garima Anand has conducted the programme at this valedictory session.-Window To News
