Bhopal: Tribal Cultural Festival 2018 has been inaugurated in Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya, Bhopal today. Prof. Satya Narayan Munda, Vice Chancellor, Syama Prasad Mukherji University, Ranchi was chief guest in the inaugural session. The programme was strated with the introductory speech by coordinator Arun Kiro. Prof. Sarit K. Chaudhuri, Director, Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya, Bhopal has briefed this programme and its relevance with IGRMS. Prof. Chaudhuri said that the IGRMS officer has visited different parts of the country for collection of specimen and related information. They are also trying to preserve the identity of tribal literature. He added that the tribal literature festival is a best medium to express the view and ideas of the tribal communities.
While delivering the keynote address, renowned author Laxman Gaikwad said that the tribals are facing many problems of social exploitation. They were deprived from the government facilities because they were treated as criminal mind people. The tribals were always trying to preserve the traditional art and culture of India. Their dance, songs, art material, literature may be called as special world of cultures. But their traditional things have been used by some persons and making a huge money of if. It's a high time when we should try to collect this rare information and publicize for next generation.
The programme was also addressed by different resources persons from all over India such as Tamsang (Chairman of Mayel Lyang Lepcha Development Board, West Bengal and a famous writer and philologer of Lepcha community). Chief Guest of the function Prof. S.N. Munda, discussed the development and bad impact of competition and other related issues of tribals with special reference to Jharkhand. The Vote of thanks was presented by Dilip Singh, Joint Director, IGRMS.
This three days tribal festival has three major components i.e. Ethnic food festival, Books and Handicraft exhibition and special performing art presentations from Manipur, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland.
On this occasion Kathe Lekha - An Exhibition on "Wooden Form of Expressions" and Kanjali – A Workshop on "Traditional Art and Craft" was inaugurated by Shri Laxman Gaikwad. Thereafter, the Panel Discussion on "Tribal Literature: Contribution and Concerns" organized. In which the participants presented their thoughts on the topic.
On this occasion publishers of Tribal Literature from across the country had displayed a book exhibition.
"Jayaka" is the major attraction of this programme organized in Tribal Habitat open-air premises. People here can enjoy the delights of traditional dishes of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Manipur, Assam and Andhra Pradesh. Raagi Chapati, Potato, Cauliflower vegetable, Horse gram-potato cury, Goda Rice, Tomato Chutney and Thepa Chutney from Oraon Tribes of Jharkhand, Aan (Rice), Khatti Masoor Daal, Fish with rice powder and Tomato, Smash roasted Fish and Chutney of black Til - Tribal Food of Karbi Tribe, Assam, Tora Lead Stem Rice, Mutton with black peeper cury, Peret Sampa (Black Daal) and Baji Ramesh Banana Flower Fry - Tribal Food of Mishing Tribe, Assam, Tribal Food of Jatapu, Andhra Pradesh - Sea dry fish cury, Yellow Lemon Rice, Horse Gram Rassam and Curry of Fry Toor Daal and Chicken Curry, Fish Curry, Chutney, Peas Daal, Kheer and Salad from Tribal Food of Kabui Naga, Manipur. All the food will carry nutritional value and will be available at nominal price for everyone from 12 pm to 3 pm. On Saturday, traditional cuisine will be served.
In the evening Cultural Programmes were also organised in which dance troops sponsored by NCZCC, Allahabad came from Manipur, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh & Nehru Yuva Kendra had performed. Troops from Manipur performed Pungcholom dance, Cheraw dance from Mizoram, Raholi dance of Nagaland and finally Juju Jaja Jamin Ja dance was performed by troops of Arunchal Pradesh.-Window To News
