Tribal Literature festival with Ethnic Food, Publication and Exhibition

Bhopal: The three days long Tribal Literature festival with Ethnic Food, Publication and Exhibition is garnering attention of culture & literature lovers of state capital Bhopal. On the second day of TLF-2018 various scholars presented research papers in the first session.
Janardhan presented a research paper on history of Gondi language. Dr Preeti Singh gave special analysis on tribal language & culture of Lucknow.
Kulin Patel presented songs based on life portrayal & various rituals of Ghodiya tribe. Jawaharlal & Bisheshwar Munda presented research paper on folk songs. The session was moderated Jamuna from Arunachal Pradesh. Jamuna gave a special analysis on novels by Dorji Dhingchi on Monpa, Bricks Tribes of Arunachal Pradesh.
In the second session, a documentary made by Department of Endangered Languages of Rajiv Gandhi Central University of Arunachal Pradesh was screened.
On this occasion publishers of Tribal Literature from across the country had displayed a book exhibition.
"Jayaka" is the major attraction of this programme organized in Tribal Habitat open-air premises. People here are enjoying the delights of traditional dishes of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Manipur, Assam and Andhra Pradesh. Raagi Chapati, Potato, Cauliflower vegetable, Horse gram-potato cury, Goda Rice, Tomato Chutney and Thepa Chutney from Oraon Tribes of Jharkhand, Aan (Rice), Khatti Masoor Daal, Fish with rice powder and Tomato, Smash roasted Fish and Chutney of black Til - Tribal Food of Karbi Tribe, Assam, Tora Lead Stem Rice, Mutton with black peeper cury, Peret Sampa (Black Daal) and Baji Ramesh Banana Flower Fry - Tribal Food of Mishing Tribe, Assam, Tribal Food of Jatapu, Andhra Pradesh - Sea dry fish cury, Yellow Lemon Rice, Horse Gram Rassam and Curry of Fry Toor Daal and Chicken Curry, Fish Curry, Chutney, Peas Daal, Kheer and Salad from Tribal Food of Kabui Naga, Manipur. All the food will carry nutritional value and will be available at nominal price for everyone from 12 pm to 3 pm. On Sunday, traditional cuisine will be served.
Today's dance presentation began with 'Kabui and Dhol Cholam Dance' of Manipur. The Kabuis, inhabiting the western hill ranges of Manipur, have a rich tradition of dance and music and are well known for their exquisite costumes. During the Gang-Ngai festival, the Kabuis perform a series of dances in different stylized forms, accompanied by the sound of heavy drums and high-pitched songs. The boys wield sharp weapons (daos) in their hands and move around in circles along with girls dressed in traditional costumes. The second performance was Cheraw dance from Mizoram, and finally Juju Jaja Jamin Ja dance was performed by troops of Arunchal Pradesh.
Kalanjali – A workshop of tribal crafts where the tribal men and women from different parts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and North Eastern states – Assam, Manipur, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland demonstrate their creativity and skilful on the crafts and also their products available on the sale.
Book Exhibition
In this exhibition the book is being exhibited and sold on tribal literature by Kaksad, Landmark Book House, Bhopal, Swaraj, Book Paradise, Bhopal, Gyan Book House, New Delhi, Kaveri Publication, Niyogi Prakashan, Vikalp, Academic Book House, Bhopal, Ekalavya, Pitara, IGRMS, Vanya Prakashan, Bhopal, Segment Book Distributors, New Delhi, Aadivasi Lok Kala Evam Boli Vikas Academy, Bhopal.
Chhattisgarh's historic Bastar Band musical presentation will be held on Sunday
The Bastar Band was formed by Anoop Ranjan Pandey, Chhattisgarh with the support by local tribal youth and others to protect traditional tribal music & instruments from extinction. All instruments, all clothes and other stuffs used in the Bastar Tribal group. The Bastar Band has artists from among the Muria, Dandami Maria, Dhurwa, Bhatra, Dorla, Munda and Halba tribes of Bastar. it also has artists from Mahra, Ganda, Mirgan, Ahir communities of Bastar. In the performances, the Bastar Band recites nearly more than 30 styles of tunes in accompaniment of 45 types of their traditional musical instruments, and present a couple of tribal traditional dances also.-Window To News
