"Akhada"of Tribal Literature festival 2018, Today's dance presentation began with 'Kabui and Dhol Cholam Dance'

Bhopal: Under cultural programme "Akhada"of Tribal Literature festival 2018, Today's dance presentation began with 'Kabui and Dhol Cholam Dance' of Manipur. The Kabuis, inhabiting the western hill ranges of Manipur, have a rich tradition of dance and music and are well known for their exquisite costumes. During the Gang-Ngai festival, the Kabuis perform a series of dances in different stylized forms, accompanied by the sound of heavy drums and high-pitched songs. The boys wield sharp weapons (daos) in their hands and move around in circles along with girls dressed in traditional costumes. The second performance was  Cheraw dance from Mizoram, and finally Juju Jaja Jamin Ja dance was performed by troops of Arunchal Pradesh.

Chhattisgarh's historic Bastar Band musical presentation will be held on Sunday
The Bastar Band was formed by Anoop Ranjan Pandey, Chhattisgarh with the support by local tribal youth and others to protect traditional tribal music & instruments from extinction. All instruments, all clothes and other stuffs used in the Bastar Tribal group. The Bastar Band has artists from among the Muria, Dandami Maria, Dhurwa, Bhatra, Dorla, Munda and Halba tribes of Bastar. it also has artists from Mahra, Ganda, Mirgan, Ahir communities of Bastar. In the performances, the Bastar Band recites nearly more than 30 styles of tunes in accompaniment of 45 types of their traditional musical instruments, and present a couple of tribal traditional dances also.-Window To News
