Voter awareness forums to be made in all government offices

Chief Electoral Officer issue instructions in meeting 

Bhopal: Chief Electoral Officer V.L. Kanta Rao has directed the nodal officers of departments to constitute 'Voter Awareness Forum' to increase voter awareness in all government, non-government organizations and business establishments. The 'Voters Awareness Forum' will work as an informal platform in the offices to increase awareness towards registration in voters list, fundamental election processes and voting related activities. All employees of the offices can become voluntary members of the forum.

Joint Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Narwal said that the Forum will make information related to the elections to the members which will help in developing the employees as powerful voters. A nodal officer will be appointed under the chairmanship of the head of the office, who will work in coordination with the Chief Electoral Officer and the District Election Office to increase voter awareness in the forum. The forum will ensure voter awareness with entertainment activities available in the office, sports club and such other clubs along with election activities.

The main objective of the forum is to increase voter awareness, to add the names of officials and employees of the office to the voters list and to motivate them to create voter identity cards. The forum will also organize workshops, competitions, cultural programmes, and debates, quiz programmes from time to time for all information regarding the election process and getting names enrolled in the voters list in government offices. Nodal officers of various departments and institutions were present in the meeting.-Window To News
