Honorarium of priests to be hiked five times – Endowments Minister Sharma 

Bhopal: Religious Trust and Endowments, Public Relations, Law and Legislative Affairs, Science and Technology and Aviation Minister P.C. Sharma said at the meeting of Department of Spirituality at the Mantralaya that an act will be brought to make the rivers of the state a living unit. The honorarium of the priests will be increased five times. Sharma said that all the work related to the planned development of pilgrimages and giving necessary facilities to pilgrims should be completed with priority.

Speaking on the appointment of temple priests, math mahants, narrators and Mujavirs and fixation and distribution of their honorarium, Minister Sharma said that a proposal will be made in the Cabinet meeting for hike in honorarium. He issued necessary instructions to put up indicators along with marking of the Narmada Parikrama path besides developing shelter sites and the development of Omkareshwar Parikrama Path and the Ram Van Path Gaman.

Additional Chief Secretary Spiritualism Manoj Shrivastava gave a presentation at the meeting to apprise with the activities of the department. Approval was given for “Devasthan fund” for conservation, protection and development of movable-immovable properties of Devasthans. Discussion was also held on bringing Aukaf and Waiver Bill in Madhya Pradesh and regarding amendments in Madhya Pradesh Public Trusts Act 1951 and Dharmada Adhiniyam 1957.-Window To News
