MLAs winning even after getting 'less' votes
71 MLAs of BJP and 69 MLAs of Congress get less than 50 per cent votes
JAN 22 (WTN) - The data is continually coming after the assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh. Some interesting figures have emerged in this episode, according to which 147 MLAs out of 230 MLAs of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly have won after getting less than half the votes. That is, they got less than 50 per cent of the votes in the elections, but they won. These figures of assembly elections have been released by the Association of Democratic Reforms.
According to the ADR report, only 83 MLAs out of 230 MLAs from Madhya Pradesh could win after getting 50 per cent of the votes. At the same time, 147 MLAs got less than 50 per cent of the votes. If we talk to different parties, so 71 MLAs of out of 109 MLAs of BJP have won after getting less than 50 per cent of the votes. At the same time, 69 MLAs out of the 114 Congress MLAs have won getting less than 50 per cent of the votes.
In addition to 4 independent MLAs from Madhya Pradesh, 2 BSP MLAs and 1 MLA from SP got less than 50 per cent of the votes. 10 MLAs out of 230 MLAs have won less than 1000 votes. There are 5 MLAs who have won more than 30 per cent of the votes.
These figures clearly show that elections are gradually getting tough. There was a time when candidates used to win elections by a very big difference, but now it can be said because of tough competition among candidates, it is difficult to get more than 50 per cent votes for any candidate.
