PWD Minister Verma reviews works of Capital zone
Bhopal: Minister for Public Works Sajjan Singh Verma gave instructions in a meeting held at Nirman Bhavan here today that the ongoing construction of roads in Bhopal should be completed with quality and within the stipulated time. He mentioned that action should be taken by blacklisting those contractors, who are causing delay in the construction works. Verma also reviewed the ongoing construction works of the Capital zone. Engineer in Chief, PWD Akhilesh Agarwal was also present at the meeting.
It was informed in the meeting that broadening work of Bhadhbhada-Bilquisganj-Sehore road in Bhopal has been started. The 8 k.m. road of this route is being made four lane with an expenditure of Rs. 30 crore. This work will be completed within the next 18 months. Similarly, work of 12 k.m. long two lane road from Kaliasot to Barhi has also been started. This road will facilitate convenient and comfortable movement to traffic of Chunabhatti, Gulmohar, Bagmugaliya and Katara Hills. An amount of Rs. 50 crore is being spent on the construction of this two lane road and the construction of the road will be completed by February 10, 2020. This two lane road will connect to Hoshangabad bypass road.
Moreover, it was informed in the meeting that Public Works Department is handling maintenance work of over 14 thousand government houses of the capital zone. There are 114 of B-category, 75 houses of C-category, 287 houses of D-category, 515 of E-category, 1686 of F-category, 2917 of G-category, 4425 of H-category and 3916 of I-category government houses in the capital.
Furthermore, it was informed that approval has been received from the New development Bank for construction of 5 roads each in Vidisha and Hoshangabd district costing about Rs. 300 crore. These works are being started soon. Similarly, approval has been received for approximately 325 k.m. long roads from the Centre Reserve Fund of the Union Government. An amount of Rs. 585 crore approximately will be spent on construction.-Window To News
