Honda conducts National Road Safety Awareness Campaign in colleges to foster safe riding habits in youth

Bhopal, Jan 14, 2019 (WTN): Aiming to build a culture of safe riding, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. today closed the first city chapter of the National Road Safety Awareness campaign for college students in Bhopal. Kicked off on 9th January, the event was conducted at the Bansal College of Pharmacy in the city.
Under this program, Honda aims to cater over 20 colleges per city to educate more than 1500 students every month. Additionally, Honda will also educate adults in imparting good road safety habits.
The four-day camp (9th-12th January) witnessed an overwhelming footfall of over 2000 participants including 200+ females who set out to imbibe the safe riding practices. Students were engaged by the means of interactive and fun yet informative activities on making Indian roads safe for riding.

Speaking on this initiative, Prabhu Nagaraj, Vice President - Brand & Communication, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said, “As a responsible corporate in the country, promoting road safety is the topmost priority of Honda 2Wheelers India and we are fully committed towards it. To further strengthen the safety awareness in country, Honda starts its 2019 journey with a new initiative, National Road Safety Awareness Campaign to promote safe riding habits in youth. Starting from Bhopal, we aim to educate young college students to foster the right safety habits amongst themselves and will further take this initiative on PAN India level.”
Various activities aligned for the students:
To spread road safety awareness, safety riding theory sessions on correct riding posture, traffic signs and road rules were conducted for participants.
A special training activity on a virtual riding simulator was executed for all to experience over 100 possible dangers on road before actual riding on road.
Riders tested their riding skills through slow riding activities and riding on narrow planks etc.
Women were specially targeted for female safety riding sessions empowering them with the basic knowledge about road safety rules and correct riding postures.
Fun educational activities like road safety games and quizzes were also conducted.
