State Government is alert to stop crime against children: PR Minister Sharma

Bhopal: Minister for Religious Trusts and Endowments, Public Relations, Law and Legislative Affairs, Science and Technology and Aviation, P.C. Sharma said that the state government is alert to stop crime against children. An initiative is being taken by the state government for prompt hearing through fast track courts to punish culprits involved in these crimes. This was informed by Sharma at the concluding programme of Jagrukta Abhiyan being conducted at BSSS College from January 20 against child sex abuse. He also released a book “Mera Shareer! Yahan Meri Marzi Chalegi” and News Letter “Madhya Pradesh Darpan” on the occasion.

Sharma laid emphasis on need for social awareness to stop child sex abuse. He stated that serious discussion in solidarity on this issue is an indication of social revolution. Some years ago we used to avoid this type of discussions publicly. Sharma further mentioned that for this there is a need to generate awareness among the children and to conduct ‘Chuppi Todo’ Campaign constantly. The State Government will provide every possible help for the success of campaign. He expressed gratitude towards the Director of the World Vision India, Dr. Varghese Jacob for organising the awareness campaign.

The Chairperson of the Child Rights Protection Commission Raghvendra Sharma and Laxmi Mehra of Bachai village-Narsinghpur district also addressed the programme. Suggestions against child abuse were given by the children during the programme. Manju Sharma and Taniya, who had been made Chairman of the Child Commission for a day were also present on the occasion.-Window To News
