NABARD urged to cooperate in strengthening Krishi Upaj Mandis

Chief Minister Kamal Nath deliberates with NABARD’s delegation 

Bhopal: Chief Minister Kamal Nath expected from the NABARD (National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development) that it will render cooperation in strengthening arrangements of Krishi Upaj Mandis. During the deliberations with a delegation of NABARD at Mantralaya today, the Chief Minister discussed about their role for mutual cooperation in potential sectors in the state.

The Chief Minister said that NABARD can cooperate in building rural infrastructure. Not only roads, there is a full scope for cooperation in social sector too. Cooperation can be rendered in strengthening polytechnic colleges and primary health centers of rural areas too. The Chief Minister also urged for their cooperation in computerization of primary cooperative societies to bring transparency in cooperative affairs. He told the NABARD Officials that farmers have increased food grain production by their hard work. This has opened a new door for food grain warehousing and management. NABARD can also play a role in this sector too, he added.

The Chief Minister has been invited by the NABARD delegation for his participation in State Credit Seminar. State Credit Plan of Rs. One lakh 73 thousand crore will be released during the seminar to be organized in the second week of February.

NABARD’s delegation presented products to the Chief Minister, made by the self-help groups, which have performed exceedingly well during the year 2018-19. It is noteworthy to note that NABARD besides promoting self-help groups is also promoting 1300 Farmers’ produces companies. The Chief Minister was presented with products of the company “Falam’ being functional in Tamia block of Chhindwara district.

Those who present on the occasion include Finance Secretary Anurag Jain, General Manager of NABARD Dr. D.S. Chouhan, General Manager M. Khes and Deputy General Manager Gautam Kumar Singh.-Window To News
